Building trust
and sharing value
Suncorp has released its 2016-17 Annual Review, outlining progress of its strategy, business performance and corporate responsibility. Creating and preserving value for our stakeholders has been central to Suncorp’s approach to corporate responsibility. We have focused on navigating the environmental, social and governance risks and opportunities we face.
Meeting the needs of vulnerable customers
Today’s customers are facing increasingly complex issues. Suncorp is taking steps to support those who are vulnerable or experiencing financial hardship. In May 2017, some of Suncorp’s Insurance team completed training designed to support vulnerable customers and their families.
Preparing for a changing climate and economy
Suncorp is committed to developing innovative and practical solutions to address climate change risks and opportunities. In the lead up to last cyclone season, Suncorp worked closely with the Townsville City Council to encourage locals to get prepared through the Cyclone Ready Streets initiative.
Being there when it matters: Kaikoura earthquake
Suncorp’s response to a natural disaster is one of those moments that matter most for our customers and communities. Our customer response teams, financial hardship packages and disaster relief response strategies are helping build resilient communities both before and after disaster strikes.
Including diverse people and skills
Suncorp’s Employee Resources Groups play a critical role in our vision to create a diverse, inclusive environment by offering support, networking and development opportunities. In 2017, Suncorp’s first Lean In chapter commenced with the aim of bringing women and men together for gender equality.
