Kate Olgers was appointed Chief Legal Officer in October 2016 and leads Suncorp's Legal and Company Secretariat team. She is responsible for overseeing the management of Suncorp's legal affairs and the mitigation of legal risks throughout Australia and New Zealand, along with company secretariat services for Suncorp in both countries.
Kate has a strong customer orientation and deep understanding of financial services and the legal issues that need to be managed in our business. Prior to joining Suncorp, Kate was the Executive General Manager, Legal, for CBA's Wealth Management & Group Technology divisions. She was also General Counsel for NAB's Banking, Products & Markets and Wealth divisions, where she led a global team of more than 200 people.
Before moving into corporate legal roles, Kate was a Partner in the Banking & Financial Services group at Allens Arthur Robinson. She was a founding Principal and Head of Financial Services at AdventBalance Lawyers, a firm that specialises in providing lawyers to clients on a secondment basis.
