Leading Australian insurer Suncorp today announced it has successfully integrated IBM Watson artificial intelligence technology into its online claims process. This will help further streamline the more than 500,000 motor claims Suncorp receives each year.
Two Queensland Police Service (QPS) detectives will undertake extensive research into helping prevent the $6 billion-worth of fraud and financial crime that impacts Australia each year, after winning the 2017 Suncorp Police Scholarship.
Three months since Tropical Cyclone Debbie made landfall, Suncorp has finalised more than half of all claims from Queensland and northern New South Wales.
Suncorp has so far received nearly 19,000 claims from residents and businesses in north and south-east Queensland, and northern NSW. More than 9000 home claims have been finalised either by completing repairs or by cash settling customers.
