Michelle Bain

Michelle was seconded into the role of Group General Counsel in August 2022 and leads our legal, company secretariat and internal fraud function.

Michelle was previously Suncorp's Group Customer Advocate. This role saw her advocate for customers as an impartial voice and ensure our customers are heard, understood and treated fairly.

She has over 20 years' experience in financial services spanning legal and risk roles. Since joining Suncorp in 2003, Michelle has led significant projects including general insurance licence consolidation, remediation programs, mergers and acquisitions and regulatory change such as the Banking Executive Accountability Regime. Prior to joining, Michelle was in private practice at Mallesons Stephen Jaques.

Michelle holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Law. She is passionate about inclusive leadership, achieving brilliant customer outcomes and creating a high performance culture where people are enabled and empowered to do their best work every day.
