Suncorp was named winner of the ‘Best Insurer – Home, Contents and Car’ category at the prestigious 2012 CHOICE Awards this week, recognised for its policies which offer customers the kind of protection that could mean the difference between recovery and financial catastrophe.
The third annual CHOICE Awards shone a light on top-performing companies and products, with winners being determined by a panel of CHOICE experts, and the customer satisfaction views expressed by 2,200 of the organisation’s members.
Suncorp CEO Mark Milliner was thrilled with the results, and said that it goes to show how well the products offered by Suncorp meet the needs of the Australian public.
“The CHOICE Awards recognise the products, services and brands that improve the everyday lives of consumers. They focus on innovation, excellent customer service and product reliability,” Mr Milliner said.
“These awards acknowledge the best of the best, so to have Suncorp win is a great achievement and honour.”
Suncorp has been a strong performer year-on-year in CHOICE’s regular reviews, and is well-known for its positive performance during the 2010/2011 Queensland floods and Tropical Cyclone Yasi.
The organisation was recognised for its Classic and Platinum home and contents policies which, according to CHOICE, “… offered the kind of protection that could mean the difference between recovery and financial catastrophe.”
For car insurance, the benchmarks included total replacement for up to two years after purchase, a workable hire car offer, and a solid policy score in CHOICE’s recent market-wide car insurance survey. In announcing the award winners, CHOICE said, “Among our finalists, only Suncorp’s Comprehensive policies ticked all these boxes. We went back to the satisfaction survey to make the final call. Nine out of 10 Suncorp car insurance customers rated the company’s claims handling as very good or excellent.”
